2015 SPRING HAS SPRUNG
It seems that spring has sprung in Seattle! Cherry trees and daffodils are in full bloom, and the region’s countless tulip varieties are just about to pop. It is humbling to walk freely in this beautiful place knowing that many of Seattle’s homeless do not have a decent meal to eat or a roof over their heads at night. It is to serve Seattle’s homeless a little comfort and dignity that this project came about, and 14 years later, we are so grateful for everyone’s support. Thank you again.
We’re also full of gratitude for our Homeless Cooking Project partners and all our amazing volunteers for the fabulous meals they helped create for Seattle’s homeless population at the start of 2015. Please find below the speeches John gave in January and February.
Once again, we hope this collection of photos and videos conveys not only what we are able to create and give to others who are less fortunate when we work together for a meaningful cause, but also how much we value the time and service that our volunteers so willingly share with us every month. We couldn't give back to the community in the same way or on such a significant scale without their care and support. As the late great Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
Please stay tuned for an update coming soon about the Homeless Cooking Project for March!
